The Last Days of Manor Park

Martin O'Donnell pays photographic tribute to Manor Park, the home of Nuneaton Borough and formally Nuneaton Town. The old ground which after 88 years of use, saw its curtain finally close in May 2007.

Boro's 1993 FA Cup Run

Boro beat Stevenage, draw with Swansea away and then beat them in a replay before drawing with Bournemouth. The game against Bournemouth was shown live on Sky and Boro were beaten 1-0 at Manor Park

Boro goals 1996-97

 

All the goals from Nuneaton Borough's Southern League Premier Division campaign of 1996-97. Rob Straw finishes joint top of the League's leading goalscorer chart, sharing the honour with Evran Wright of Halesowen Town.

Boro goals 1995-96

 

Boro do the double, winning the Southern League Midland Division and the Doc Marten's Cup. Robbie Straw and Ian Drewitt score the goals.

Boro goals 1998-99

 

Boro win the Southern League Premier Division title by a massive 23 points from second placed Boston United.

Boro Legends Evening

 

The From Town To Town team host an evening of history, featuring interviews with Boro players from Hughie Morrow and Dudley Kernick in the 1950s to Gareth Dean and Guy Hadland in the latest Nuneaton Town era.

Boro pick up an unlikely win after being under the cosh for long periods. Darren Acton makes a crucial save to secure the win.

Nuneaton Town having steadied the ship after a disastrous start to the season, come into the Macclesfield game on the back of a catastrophic 6-1 defeat at Woking the previous week.

Nuneaton Town 2, Stockport County 0

 

Rock bottom Boro, fortunate not to concede in the opening seconds, battle their way to a much needed win against Stockport County, their first win since beating Telford in September.

Nuneaton Town 1, Mansfield Town 1

 

Boro, survive a one-sided first half  as they bid to escape from the bottom of the table. Also, we look back to pre-season when Nuneaton Griff played host to Boro at Liberty Way.

Nuneaton Town 3, Hyde United 1

 

Boro, on the verge of a second season in the Blue Square Premier, all but guarantee their survival. Also, highlights from a game earlier in their survival chase in which they match a powerful Luton side.

Gresley Rovers 1, Nuneaton Borough 4

 

Boro travel to Moat Lane, home of runaway league leaders Gresley. The visitors' form has been up and down throughout the season while Gresley have cemented their position at the top of the table.

Nuneaton Borough v Evesham United

 

Boro are within an ace of the league title and Paul Culpin can break the Nuneaton Borough record for the number of goals scored in a season, beating the 54 scored by Tony Richards in 1966-67.

Nuneaton Borough v Bedworth United

 

It's Boxing Day - literally! Boro and Bedworth play out a fiesty bank holiday encounter. Bedworth are in poor form and Boro are trying to bounce back from the disaster of the previous season.

Nuneaton Town v Forest Green Rovers

 

Boro face one of the title favourites, who had won 8-0 in the opening game of the season. Boro had started well with a win at Macclesfield. The game is followed Highlights Video from 2013-14.

Nuneaton Borough v Redditch United

 

Boro go a goal down in the first 60 seconds but following Dennis Mulholland's sending off for the second year on the bounce, Boro put Redditch to the sword in the second half.

Boro goals 1993-94

 

Boro enjoy success in the FA Cup, beating Swansea in a replay at Manor Park, but the wheels fly off after losing to Bournemouth in a replay. The players and the club are in dispute over Cup bonuses and finish bottom of the league.

Tamworth v Nuneaton Borough - 1996

 

It's March 1996 and Boro are in the process of taking the Southern League Midland Division title. Tamworth, however, are a top six side and dangerous opposition on their own turf...

Middlesbrough Reunited

 

A celebration of the great cup-run of 2006 when a last minute Gez Murphy penalty earned Nuneaton a replay against Premiership Middlesbrough.

February 20, 1999: Bath City 1, Nuneaton Borough 3

 

Boro face a tough test at Twerton Park against Bath City, who are well placed in the Southern League Premier Division.

Boro conspire to lose a game in which they score four goals. A  penalty miss and a goalkeeping error contribute to their downfall.

Nuneaton Town 2, Tamworth 1

 

Boro, having missed a penalty come back to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with a late winner. Congratulations to the commentary team who predict both result and attendance.

Nuneaton Town 1, Alfreton Town 0

 

In this offering Boro grind out an important win against high-flying Dartford and complete a rare double over Alfreton.

Nuneaton Town 1, Lincoln City 0

 

Boro, still embedded in the bottom four face fellow strugglers Lincoln City with both sides desperate for a much needed win. Plus highlights from the pre-season friendly with Coventry City

Nuneaton Town 3, Southport 1

 

Boro, unbeaten in their first two games face top of the table Southport at Liberty Way.

Boro goals 1997-98

 

Boro's promising start to the season goes disastrously wrong with an abysmal run of results from the end of October to the beginning of December. However, better times were just around the corner.

Nuneaton Borough v Tamworth

Boro, back in the Southern League Midland after one season in the Premier are trying to regroup after a player revolt. Tamworth are in the mix, but Newport County are  favourites for the title.

Leicester United v Nuneaton Borough

It is a freezing cold night, but Boro are red hot favourites for the title. Despite their lowly position in the table the hosts are a tough prospect on their own ground.

Nuneaton Borough Goals 1994-95

Manager Elwyn Roberts pays the price for a season of under achievement as Boro finish 27 points shy of Newport AFC. On the upside there was an FA Trophy win and the Reserves won the title.

Barrow v Nuneaton Borough

Barrow, flying high in the Northern Premier League face Southern League Midland Division Boro in a rip-roaring FA Cup tie.
